Episode 7: The Different Types Of Traffic and How You Can Use For Your Business

In today’s episode, I want to talk to you about the different kinds of traffic and how you can use them to build your business. This is a super important video for you to watch.

So I would suggest to turn off all of your distraction now, take your pen and notebook, take down valuable information that I would share with you.

So as I mentioned before, I want share with you the different kinds of traffic which you can use to build your business. Before I go into that, I want to share with you, in any business you do, you must have traffic.

Without traffic, you can’t get leads, and without leads you can’t convert them to sales. that is a fact. It is a proven equation.

So today I wanna share with you the different types of traffic.

And they are:

  1. Traffic that you can control
  2. Traffic that you can’t control
  3. Traffic that you own

Now let me explain to you one by one. Get ready!

  1. Traffic that you can control

Let’s talk about the first traffic, that is traffic that you can control technically.

So this kind of traffic, normally we refer them as paid traffic.

You can do paid traffic from facebook, youtube or bing..things like that. When you do paid traffic, be careful. What I mean by that is that, at any point of time, if you do not obey the rules and regulation of all these advertising platform, such as facebook and youtube, they can shut you down anytime. So technically, you don’t own 100% of control over all this thing.

Now, the areas that you can control in this type of traffic is that, you can control in terms of the amount of traffic that you want to send to click on your offer. The more clicks you get, the more you have to pay for it. So this kind of paid traffic, you can control and you can scale up very quickly as well.

If you want to scale up your business fast, I would say that paid traffic will be the best way to go forward. There’s no such thing as free traffic because at the end of the day, time is money. If you want to drive free traffic, it’s possible but the thing is you’ll be spending a lot of time trying to drive free traffic which is not very targeted. It might not be the best way to scale up your business. That’s just some tips for you.

  1. Traffic that you can’t control

The 2nd type traffic is basically the traffic that you can’t control. So normally this kind of traffic, it comes from content marketing such as the blog, the video content that you created, for example like this. This is where you can get organic traffic.

Now, this kind of traffic is very hard for you to control. What I mean is that, technically you can’t scale it up like paid traffic. The reason being, let’s say, you want to increase your clicks. Let’s say from 500 clicks right now to 3,000 clicks overnight. It is not possible to scale it up the way you want it to be because after all, you are using advertising platform such as google, yahoo, to send the clicks to your content. So in other words, really this kind of traffic is out of control.

Of course, the more content you create, there is a possibility this may increase the number of clicks. However, like I said before, it is not really possible to control how the traffic work.

  1. Traffic that you own

The last traffic that I want to share with you is about is traffic that you own. I would say this is the most important traffic. Why is that so? Because it is something that you own.

I normally refer to this kind of traffic as the list that I have built. In a simple term, this is called email marketing. Email marketing is really powerful.

I can tell you that I am building my list everyday. Now, whatever business that you do, you must start building your list from day one. This is the most important thing that you must do. The reason is because your list will be the most important asset for your business besides capital investment. Without that list, you can’t run the business.

So what do you do with the list? As you are actively building your list, the next thing you must do is to interact with your list by emailing them or maybe by calling them if that’s you’re comfortable with. Emailing daily is very important, so that you can engage to build like and trust with your list.  

So there is a saying: “The fortune is in the follow up”. This statement is very true. Follow up is a million dollar skill. So remember, when you email your list, make sure it is not always sales speech. Send out a very valuable information to them. It could be something new that is going on. The thing is this, as you begin to build relationship with your list, engage with them, sometimes people will reply your email and they’ll say they like your email.

So whatever business you do, you need to be getting traffic and building the list, then owning the traffic. You can do all this by paid advertising, content marketing, putting a value out there and if you mix these two together, it will be a very powerful combo.
